We will be moving soon, so drew an I decided to take a tour of the area today. We went to Lake Louisa State Park and hiked some of the trails. It was a hot, summer day and the rain storms passed through at intervals, but we got some exercise and found some great spots in the woods.
We found some deer tracks and talked about hunting, and the ridges I used when I lived in the mountains. The trail lead to a spot where there was a lot of erosion and what appeared to be rich deposits of trace minerals.
It appeared to be a place that the deer came often, with many trails leading in and out of the pit. So we decided to look around some more and wait to see what comes through here.
We startled this group of deer, but they seem to live a life much like the deer at Rock Springs. This doe we came across later did not seem that bothered by our presence and allowed Drew a close up.
A beautiful day and we also found the remnants of other animals that live here.
I'll post pics of the rest of the day in the gallery. It was nice living in Clermont for a while, but it is time for new adventures.
Forty years old and still in awe of the outdoors.
